Mon 21st June - Day 66, Westerdale to Canisbay (22 miles)
Another start to the day in the drizzle and 23 miles of road walking was not something to look forward to, but as it was effectively my last day, I didn't mind.
The rain soon stopped but it remained cloudy & cold.
Walking through Mybster & Watten the road was at least full of bends & junctions to break the journey up but then I had 6 straight miles through Lythe. I stopped to speak to a man working at a phone mast, he asked me if I was thirsty, thinking he was going to offer me a hot drink I said yes so I was disappointed when he brought me out a bottle of water from the back of his van. I usually carry 2 litres of water in the rucsac but on cold days I drink less than ½ litre.
I stopped at Canisbay, it was tempting to carry on & finish but I resisted. Fiona picked me up & took me to the ferry to meet Sandra, after not seeing her for 9 weeks what was I feeling?
1174 miles completed.
